Alison Stere

Alison is a research analyst working with the team of Dr Sarah Hales and Dr Rinat Nissim. Our research primarily focuses on bereavement outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as patient and caregiver experiences throughout the MAiD process at UHN and Sunnybrook. She has a bachelor’s degree in bioethics from the University of Toronto and is in the process of completing an MA in the same field from the University of Leeds.

Thomas Kais-Prial

Thomas’ role within the Department of Supportive Care is to better enable research flow through processes of researcher hiring, raising awareness of current research funding opportunities, promoting visibility of department research, tackling departmental research challenges, establishing greater cohesion, and establishing a new intradepartmental clinical trials program.

Thomas has a master’s degree in public policy & administration, as well as a certificate in project management. He is passionate about research, clinical trials, quality measurement, and through this work, best supporting patients living with cancer and other chronic conditions.

Fun Fact: Thomas holds a black belt in Taekwondo.
